Richard's Run HHK 5KEvent HistoryThe Ho-Ho-Kus 5K Run was founded in 2004 by the members of the Contemporary Club of Ho-Ho-Kus, to raise money for various pediatric cancer organizations in the Bergen County, NJ area. In 2006, the HHK 5K was re-named "Richard's Run HHK 5K" by the Contemporary Club, after Richard Stefanacci, 13, who participated in the 5K that year while bravely battling cancer. Richard lost his fight a short time later, and his strength and spirit has inspired many and continues to resonate each year as the Run continues to grow into a tremendously successful annual event. In 2010, Go4theGoal started a new tradition and began to honor "Courageous Kids" at the Post Race Event. These "Courageous Kids" are kids who are currently battling cancer in the local Bergen County area, to highlight their strength and to show what an inspiration they are to the community.
